Reg Hatch served on the INCC Committee from 1987 (possibly earlier), including a period as Vice President (and Boat Captain) until 1991. He led the Ivanhoe Grammar kayak team while the school was an affiliate of the Club.
Reg was a National Sprint Coach at World Championships from 1979 and was Olympic coach in Melbourne from 1980 to 1988. He continued as a coach in Melbourne until the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and was head Head Coach for the USA in 1996.
He coached many of INCC’s great paddlers including Olympians John Sumegi, Crosbie Baulch, Ken Vidler, Martin Ralph and Peter Genders and World Champions John Jacoby (Marathon) and Martin Hunter(Sprint). Reg now lives in Alice Springs.
